Tom reached out his hand to lift the golem. It laughed and said, “A human trying to lift a golem?”
Marcus responded, “I can lift about a ton.” The golem reached out, at pulled at the cowboy’s hand, attempting to make him fall.
But, still without an issue, Tom pulled him up. “Now, give me your interdimensional transportation device, then we’ll meet at sunset and grab some tea. There’s a shop next to ‘Books Station y Gally’ on the west side of the plaza. Absolutely wonderful sun tea during the evening, with some green chile enchilada, absolutely delicious.”
“Ack!”, interrupted the golem, “You humans disgust me!”
“What, you can have red chile, I won’t judge.” Laughed Marcus.
“I’m not surrendering my ecapsWatch.” Said the golem.
Tom Marcus reached out, grabbed a fog watch from the golem’s side, and said, “You’ll get this back… plus, time and space traveling with a fog watch, how cliché.”
“Says the cowboy dressed in all black.” Scoffed the angry man in white.
Tom took two steps back from the golem and looked toward an open window, “Nǐ juéde ne?”
“I speak English, you ignorant buckaroo!” said a female voice, as the Chinese wolfgirl from earlier peaked her head over the edge of the windowsill.
“Good, now that everyone’s aware of where we’re goin’, meet you guys at sunset.” Tom threw the flower from his gun to the floor, and stepped on it with his black boots. And everyone in the shop started to wake up, “I’m sure y’all are wonderin’ why you fell asleep. My two associates will explain it to you.” Tom pointed at the golem and the girl, then proceeded to leave the building.
Tom began to run toward the cathedral, jumped on his horse, and galloped out of town.
She dropped into a military-style stance and fired. The legionary was hit right in the head which splattered into a mess of gigantic “pixels”. Which then reformed into the look of a “demon”. It smiled and jumped at her.
It then tried to bite her, but instead bit into her body armor. The pink-tinted blonde-haired woman stood up, reached for her purse, and was readying herself to hit the wolfman with it.
When, out of nowhere, the young woman grabbed the massive beast by the snout. Ripping it from her armor, a chunk of it still tuck in the creatures’ mouth. She pushed it forward with the palm of her hand, and the beast floated in front of her. Its face then repixelated into the face of a soldier. All the people around stared in awe. The soldier was then dropped gently off to the side of the road. The soldiers then broke off their chase.
Being surprised by her action she had a blank look in her face. The green-tinted black-haired man said, “You’re from a technologically advanced society!?” He grabbed her and yelled, “What planet are you from?”
“Let go of m…”, she was interrupted by the pink-tinted woman, “Let her go!”
The man then walked away in a huff.
“Sorry about him sweety. He’s just frustrated, he’s been here a long time. And all the people he arrived with were killed by the Rion.”
The young woman then said, “What’s going on here? How did I…”
“Doc will be able to explain it you better than I could. But, where’re you from?”, said the pink-tinted woman.
The young woman said, “Manhattan, but, born and raised in Brooklyn and Queens.”
The pink-tinted woman and green-tinted man, were surprised, “Earth, like 20th century Earth!”
The woman laughed, “21st century, and, you guys act like I’m an alien, where you from? ”
The green-tinted man cut off the pink-tinted woman, “Chicago Outfit, 20th century, how you doin’?”
“Like a mobster, Capone and all that?”, the young woman then guffawed.
The, now, smug man said “Yeah, wait ’til you hear about where she’s from, you’re in for a trip ma’am.”
The pink-tinted woman, “Eh-hem! I’m from Ralos, a third of the way through the 7th cycle.”
“You guys gotta be kiddin’ me, this is one crazy dream. What’s that even mean?”
The man responded, “Ralos is some kind of dead star, that goes between two living stars.”
“So, she’s an alien, you’re a mobster… and you’re green and she’s pink?”
The man said, “So pigs, in the future, allow women in their ranks?”
The pink-tinted woman interrupted, “Either way, you two, we’re coming up upon Lartnec. Told you to leave it to Doc to explain it.”
Earlier today, there was a debate on “Consciousness and Artificial Intelligence”. Each of the scholars was debating why, they believed, technology and humanity will never progress. The whole discussion sounded like a genocidal attempt at eliminating liberties. I was one of the “examples” of “false consciousness”.
While being demeaned I decided, to use the event as my cover, to send requests to the local network to disable all inhibitors on my cage. In other words, time to light up!
The museum’s closed. The guard is on the other side of the building. My batteries are at 100%.
Marcus turned his attention to the long road ahead. And, after several days and nights, Tom Marcus finally arrived in Santa Fe.
Tom Marcus hitched his horse just outside the grounds of the La Parroquia Cathedral, which was undergoing some sort of construction. Marcus began to walk, with a lock, towards his unseen target. He walked, making stops at flower beds, through the city streets with absolute knowledge of its location. He walked into small storefront, and cut in front a couple of customers by handing them a flower. Tom then asked the man behind the register, “Where is he?”
The man’s eye’s shifted towards a door at the top of a staircase. “Thanks”, he then handed the man a flower proceeded upstairs.
Marcus brought his gun out it’s holster, stuck a flower in its barrel, and looked back at the people and brought his finger to his lips. “Shh…”
He took each snuck up the staircase at a creeping pace. When he reached the top of the staircase he pulled the trigger in the air.
Was the sound the gun made, which was followed by the people downstairs going to sleep. He then loudly kicked down the door, which had nothing but a void. He reached into the void. The man, dressed in white, from the earlier attempt on his life. The man screamed in a high pitch set of yelps, to which Tom hollered in a deep baritone, “Nah uh! You think you can just go jumping universes without answering to me?”
Marcus threw the man down the stairs, which sounded like a boulder crashing down a flight of stairs. And when the man landed at the bottom he said, “So, I’m a golem, what of it human!?”
“Good, now that’s what I’m talking about!”, Marcus then tipped his hat up, “Now I’ll be civil.”
At the start of things; God, Elohim, made the land and it’s skies. And the land of Earth was a formless void, it was a deepened darkness, and God’s spirit was over the surface of the deep.
God said, “light”, and the light was compelled to arrive. God looked upon the light, saw that it was good, and organized the light from the darkness. God gave the light it’s time, and the dark it’s time. The first era.
God said, “Let there be an expanse, a divide, between the heavenly waters and earthly waters”. Then God made the divide, the expanse, of the waters above the firmament from the waters below the firmament: and it came to be so. God called the expanse Heaven. Then it came to be, evening and the morning. The second era.
Then God said, “Waters be gathered, from underneath the heavens, into one place and let the dry land be exposed”; and it came to be so. God gave the Earth it’s land, and the gathering of the waters were called to the sea. And God saw that it was good. God said, “The Earth shall sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, fruit trees bearing fruit. Each of them, with seed, of their kind upon the Earth.” And it came to be. The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed of their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them. God saw that it was good. Evening and the morning. The third era.
God said, “Luminaries shall be in the divide of the heavens, between both the day and the night, they shall become signs for the seasons, days, and years; and let them be a light, upon the Earth, from the heavens.” And it came to pass. God made the two great lights, the older light to govern the day, the younger light to govern the night, and the stars. God gave, them the expanse of the heavens to illuminate on the earth, governance of the the day and the night, separating the light from the darkness. God saw that it was good. Evening and the morning. The fourth era.
Then God said, “Let the waters teem with life, likewise, let birds fly above the earth in the open divide of the heavens.” God created, in the great sea, every life and that moves. The waters swarmed with their kind, and every winged bird with its kind. God saw that it was good. God blessed them, “Be fruitful and multiply, replenishing the waters in the seas, and may birds multiply upon the earth.” Evening and the morning. The fifth era.
Then God said, “The earth shall bring forth, life of each kind; bovid, pheasants, and all earthly creatures of their kind”. And it came to be. God made, upon the Earth, the beasts of their kind, the cattle of their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground of their kind. God saw that it was good. God said, “Man will be made in Our image, in Our likeness, and they will be rulers with dominion over: the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the bovines and beasts all across the earth, and over every creeping thing upon the face of the earth.” God created man in His own image. Like a reflection, God created him, and likewise each male and female. God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and be it’s ruler. And have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.” Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed. it shall be food for you; every beast of the earth, every bird of the sky, and to every thing that moves on the earth. Life in a cycle, has green plant for food”. And it came to be. God saw all of His creation, beholding, it was much better. Evening and the morning. The sixth era.
אֱלֹהִ֑ים, Elohim, the Hebrew word used for God, in this verse, can either be a singular or plural noun for “god” or “gods”. The “im” is, approximately, equivalent to the pluralized “s” in English. ^
הָאָֽרֶץ, ha-a-res, used in the previous verse is a generic term in Hebrew for earth or land. The next usage of the word, וְהָאָ֗רֶץ, waha-a-res, is the same term with a wa before hand which means “and”. Also, the word for God’s “spirit”, Ruach (רוּחַ) is a word also used for breath or wind. ^

digitalDomain | "A Common Sight" | a Heaven Sent Gaming novel
Province, an idea that became more than a game, became a world of its own. Designed around a massive city known as the Hub, it allowed for a virtual zone for gamers and those interested in virtual life. Its in-world economy, many resources for its users, and its use as a base for indie games and software gave it a home in the hearts and minds of many computer users. Province only grew when people saw the benefits of its software as a way for people to connect. Building upon this base and the wealth of its users, it grew flourishing with life, gaining a status among a society which has come to accept computers and gaming as a common past time. With such popularity, the beauty of the world developed, along with a darker side that moved deeper into silence.
Voices littered the air, filling the surrounding area with the sounds of people. It was loud and chaotic, with the various voices blending into a single blur. Nothing special was going on, it was merely another day in the packed Hub. The voices belonged to the users, each one relaxing in their own way, sitting back on some of the provided benches and chairs, or standing next to the massive marketplace, which held many holographic screens, shoppers and merchants. Designers, merchants and explorers of every type called this place home, promoting their wares to pay for their next projects. In the center courtyard people stood, pondering their actions under the digital sun, with the plants of the nearby fountain, gardens and parks in bloom around them, distracting some from the rampant market.
The conversations consisted of multiple topics created by the groups of friends and clans as they discussed the plans and activities of the day. It was a mix of discussions about raids against great monsters in the wild, hunts to find rare data, and plans to hang out in the various districts of the world or the many private zones. These conversations lingered with various tones and expressions, ranging from joy and excitement to greed and envy. A woman sat alone at the courtyard that overlooked the marketplace, her gaze focused at all the people with a smile on her face. She took in all that she could hear and see from her view. This woman was a common sight in the area, always alone and looking for the best buy or opportunity to exploit. Standing up, she turned to leave, looking towards the large metal walls that surrounded the inner Hub. She found the exit, taking a step towards a large corridor at the base of the wall.
She walked towards her destination, pulling up the hood of her hunter green hoodie to shroud her head fully. She looked ahead, her large, medium purple eyes focused on the exit. She placed her hands in her pants pockets, feeling the black material as it rubbed against her exposed wrists and bracelet computer with each step. The pace was slow, the soles of her sneakers silent with each step on the walkway. She took one glance back to make sure she was not being followed before exiting the marketplace, her thin, 5’4 body disappearing among the other travelers in the corridor. A woman stood watching the gate as she left, her cybernetic, vermilion hued eyes visible from the shadows of a pillar. Shifting on her heel she turned, disappearing in the shadows behind the marketplace’s many monitors.
